BuildOnline helps make Edinburgh 'most active city'
Leading construction consultant Thomas and ADAMSON and The City of Edinburgh Council will use On Demand collaboration technology from BuildOnline to underpin the bid to become the 'most active city' by 2020.
Thomas and ADAMSON have an agreement with City of Edinburgh Council to project manage a number of construction programmes, including the £100 million investment in world-class sporting facilities. This includes the creation of a new national stadium at Sighthill, a £30 million renovation of the Royal Commonwealth Pool and a state-of-the-art football centre in Craigmillar.
BuildOnline's business collaboration and document management solution was chosen to streamline the way the partners handle and communicate key information, such as plans, drawings and contracts. It will enable effective collaboration across all teams to ensure everyone has access to up to date critical information, from anywhere at anytime.
"Working on such an extensive and high-profile project, it was essential to have a system that supports collaboration across our supply-chain," said Scott Castle, associate at Thomas and ADAMSON in the Edinburgh office. "To meet our clients' needs it is critical to have management visibility into project progress and pain points, and a project audit trail of all user activity. BuildOnline's flexibility and ease of use means it can be fully deployed across all users within just two months."
"We are delighted that Thomas and Adamson selected BuildOnline to support their work with Edinburgh City Council," said Mark Suster, CEO, BuildOnline. "Using the BuildOnline solution allows each member of a professional team to focus on their particular discipline whilst having crucial access to all of the project information. This easy access, sharing of information and completely transparent method of working plays a significant part in the delivery of projects to the set and often demanding time, budget and quality criteria."
