Browser Setup

This section provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your system to use ProjectNet. NOTE: This guide assumes that you have working knowledge of your operating system and can perform such tasks as using the mouse, opening files, and launching applications. If you are not familiar with such functions, please consult the Help manuals for your system or ask your System Administrator for assistance.

How To Configure Internet Explorer
The following instructions are for users using Internet Explorer 7.x and greater.

1.       Launch Internet Explorer from your Desktop or from your Start menu.
2.        Select Tools > Internet Options from the Internet Explorer menu.
3.        Click the Settings button in the Browsing History Files section of the General tab.
4.        Set the Check for newer version of stored pages option to Every visit to the page.
5.        Click the OK button.
6.        Click the Security tab.
7.        Select the Trusted Sites zone.
8.        Click the Sites button.
9.        Make sure Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is unchecked.
10.      In the field Add this Web site to the zone: type in projectnet.cephren.com and click the Add button.
11.      projectnet.cephren.com should now be added to the list of Web sites.
12.      Click the Advanced tab.
13.      Scroll to the section HTTP 1.1 settings. Make sure Use HTTP 1.1 is checked and use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connection
14.      Note: If there is an entry for MicrosoftVM in the Advanced tab, please uncheck entries.
15.      Put a check into the following check boxes under the Security heading and close out dialog box:
  •     SSL 3.0
  •     SSL 2.0
16.   If you are logging into ProjectNet with the Encryption box checked, then you need to also un-check the following under the Security heading:
  •    Do not save encrypted pages to disk
17.   Click the OK button to save changes.
18.   From the file menus navigate to Tools and Manage Add-Ons select Enable or Disable Add-ons.  Verify that Java plugin is enabled.  If the plugin is not enabled, please enable and choose OK.
19.   As well, if you have Pop-up Blocker enabled in Internet Explorer, please follow these additional steps.
  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Select Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings...
  • In the field Address of Web site to allow:, type projectnet.cephren.com and click on the Add button
  • You should then see projectnet.cephren.com under Allowed sites.
  • Click Close to save your changes.

 You are now properly set for ProjectNet using Internet Explorer.
